  KLM expects to join SkyTeam by the end of the summer: At the end of the summer, KLM expects to join the SkyTeam Alliance together with Northwest Airlines and Continental Airlines. The expanded SkyTeam will comprise nine airlines operating more than 14,000 daily flights to 650 destinations in 130 countries. Current SkyTeam members are Aeroméxico, Air France, Alitalia, Czech Airlines, Delta Air Lines and Korean Air.

  Merger KLM and Air France in final stage: The last hurdles have been taken on the road to the intended merger between KLM and Air France. During the coming months, the final steps in the process will be concluded. The new group will be called Air France-KLM and will be the first European airline group. Air France-KLM will benefit from complementary networks and offer passengers more flights to more destinations and optimum connections.
